PUNKROCK TAKEOVER produces a weekly showcase of diverse local bands from all around the Greater New Orleans area--as well as the occasional national or international act--in order to generate a cross pollination of musicians and fans to help foster a more diverse and balanced music scene. All of our shows will include bands of varying age groups and talent, bands from different subcultural and geographical communities. All of the proceeds from these shows will be funneled into local nonprofit organizations, and the shows will also include speakers, workshops, and skillshares from those organizations whenever possible. Click here for news and a list of our upcoming events.

PARTICULARS:

The shows take place every Sunday from 2PM-6PM at the Big Top Three Ring Circus (1638 Clio Street, in Central City near Lee's Circle). Free food will be available, and drinks will be sold at the bar. All shows are all ages and cost five dollars. The door price drops to three dollars with book donations for the Iron Rail Infoshop or Books 2 Prisoners, or with non-perishable food donations (preferably vegan) to help offset our food costs and to be donated to local outreach programs.

GET INVOLVED:

One of our main goals with these events is to educate and network people in a variety of ways, so they can take those skills and create their own events or help where needed.  Here's what we can teach you: stage-managing, money-taking, sound-running, food-cooking and -serving, flyering/promoting. Already know how to do these things? Then give us a hand! We'd love for anyone and everyone to be involved with the shows in any way possible. We're also looking for:

- bands who want to play (all styles and genres welcome!)

- flyering (physically and digitally and verbally and mentally)

- people willing to sponsor or produce a show with us (curate an entire event!)

- have your organization table or speak at our event

- teach a workshop or skillshare at our event

SUPPORT!:

We can only continue doing these shows if people come out, so please try and make an effort to support these shows if you can. Spread the word. Send over a Stand-In if you can't make it.

Please feel free to contact us anytime.
