2011 we welcome SOLDIERS to the family!

More then a decade of going to shows together we finally get to team up with our Long Island friends SOLDIERS. We will be releasing a 5 song 7” (with digital download coupon) titled “Hit the Bricks”. Peep the cover art and a track “Never Short on Enemies“ up for free download / stream click here to check that out.

Here is the press release:
After a brief hiatus SOLDIERS is back and more fierce than ever with their new 5 song ep “Hit the Bricks” to be released as a 7” (with download) early 2011 on Long Islands own State of Mind Recordings. Unrelenting and unapologetic hardcore from Long Island stalwarts. SOLDIERS has once again drawn the line in the sand.
Features key members of THIS IS HELL and INCENDIARY.
For fans of: Merauder, Sick of it All, VOD, Biohazard, All Out War

COMPOUND will have its demo released on a 1 sided 7” features guest vocals by INCENDIARY (some will be silk screened on the B side). This will be limited to 1 pressing only. We still have a few of the un mastered version available on Cassette. If you have not heard them yet X up and come see them in NY 2/13 with The Rival Mob, Stick Together, and Give.

ANCHOR had a great US tour with RIVER CARD and UNRESTRAINED. The LP pre order is just about over and we also have a couple copies of the limited tour version of the lp that was left over. Also check out our ANCHOR merch. The LP will be in store late Feb.

REVIVER “Potential Wasteland” MCD has been out for a little bit and we have shirts, posters, and stickers available but we are happy to say the 7” is going into press this month.. So it should be out in the early half of 2011 and they plan on hitting the road around the same time.

DEAD HEARTS “A Death in the Family” 7” with digital download coupon is out in stores and distros all over. If you don’t pick it up from us we recommend using INTER PUNK or REV. The limited cd version (w bonus tracks) will be out this year, along with some cool limited posters. If you only want a digital format head on over to our band camp page

RUST BELT LIGHTS is releasing a new record with Paper + Plastic and it kicks butt!
They are on tour with Such Gold this month then they go out with I CALL FIVES (no sleep) for Feb and March. Check these guys out, they work super hard and are awesome dudes. We still have a few shirts left over and some copies of the “Lone Gone” 7” but it’s the version that was released in Europe. The US version we released is out of print but we will repress it later in the year. There are still some places that have copies.

T.A.E.A. had mentioned playing a reunion show, waiting on more news.

Check out distro some time, over 700 titles at
State of Mind Recordings
Stream our records ALL of them for free at our
Band Camp Page

Thanks again for the support

it's funny because it's sarcasm!

What becomethe[pickin' up]change, fails to realize because he is an import is that for a while there was a hardcore crew that started in new orleans a couple of years ago that aligned itself with the ideals and practices of that whole boston beatdown crap that was all the rage back in the day. They would go to shows and beat the crap out of pretty much anyone that was within a 3 foot radius of their dance space. They went so far that at the Bane show the lead singer requested that they be kicked out. Furthermore good portion of these guys, from my understanding... I could be wrong, were also a part of the whole Beat the Bitch, inc, so you will have to forgive us if that whole "I'm going to fuck you up" lifestyle is generally frowned upon 'round these parts.

I'm pretty sure that it has been expressed that most of us have an affinity for some good ole hardcore, but yeah...Being a thug is pretty worthless.

ELITIST HARDCORE OR GTFO

I kid I kid. This still is no reason to have zero hardcore bands play this city. Grrr.

Definitely. But the body building needs to be coupled with some Schopenhauer, and the Ayn Rand needs to be coupled with Jules Bonnot.

Plenty of hardcore bands coming through as always. A cursory glance at the list shows Phobia, Magrudergrind, and The Body over the next month. I'm sure more will pop up on Matt Russell's calendar for Siberia. I have Disciples of Christ, Nazi Dust, Boneblack, White Lung, and Shitstorm all coming through June.

Now it's just up to you folks out there to start some good local hardcore bands. Maybe we need to start one of the projects where you put a bunch of musicians' names in a hat and make them form random one-off bands.

Have any of you guys actually seen SOLDIERS play or met any of them?

they have been a LI band for years and released stuff on Trustkill and also on some more DIY type labels.

I am not down with fighting at shows or any gang mentality
