Haven't had a chance to read this stuff yet, but from what Emily told me, it sounds really interesting.

To my brilliant women friends:
This is about the internal structure of the clitoris.
An article:
http://io9.com/5876335/until-2009-the-h ... te-mystery
based on this one:
http://blog.museumofsex.com/the-internal-clitoris/
that includes a YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... IbbZ37A7RQ
And if you have ever read about FGM you should know about the work of Pierre Foldès:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Foldès
and his partner, urologist Jean-Antoine Robein
who have developed procedures made possible by these findings to restore a degree of function and feeling to women who have undergone this tragic ritual.
I am left with hope for the future but also with a sense of absolute shaking fury that until Foldes and Robein undertook this work and announced their finding in 2009 there was simply no positive medical interest in studying an organ that exists only for women's pleasure--so little interest that its structure was not even known until 2009 -- and how starkly that contrasts with the study and attention given to the male sexual organ by the medical community.
